26 Sep HealthHIE Nevada to Expand Secure Central Data Repository, Enhance Health Data Exchange
Nevada’s health information exchange (HIE), HealtHIE Nevada, recently secured $1.2 million in funding to enhance health data exchange for area providers through an expanded secure central data repository.
According to a recent EHR Intelligence article, the HIE will be equipped to support higher volumes of patient health information, providing a mechanism “so patients don’t have go to separate providers, gather paper records, and carry them around with them.”
Earlier this month, HealtHIE Nevada also announced that it has achieved full accreditation with the Health Information Exchange Accreditation Program (HIEAP) from the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC). The accreditation signals the HIE’s success in health data processing and transactions, and indicates compliance with HIPAA regulations.
“Security and privacy are extremely important for operating a health information exchange and in building trust with our participants and patients,” said Michael Gagnon, executive director of HealtHIE Nevada, in this press release. “We are thrilled to report that we scored 97 out of a possible 100 points on our assessment which is a testament to the dedication and skills of our entire team.”
HealtHIE Nevada is a prime example of an HIE embracing health data in ways that will transform care quality for patients in its network of 70 network participants including Dignity Health, Valley Health System, University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, and others.
As more HIEs embrace enhanced data quality and sharing, many are seeing value in the IMAT Solutions C3 framework, which helps a wide-range of healthcare organizations achieve true data confidence for improving all care, reporting, financial, and compliance efforts.
With the dramatic rise in the amount of health-related data that is often untimely, incomplete and inaccurate, the new C3 framework tackles this issue by ensuring all data is Clean (C1), Comprehensive (C2) and Current (C3).
To help bring the C3 framework to life, IMAT Solutions recently launched its Health Data Confidence Index (DCI), a new online assessment tool that allows care organizations to quantify their overall data confidence.
Data quality and confidence will continue to be a major priority for HIEs, now and into the future. Thankfully, there are tools and solutions for helping these organizations to best advance their missions through data.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to maximize your data for the best performance outcomes!
