22 Jun What is Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) for Health Payers?

There is an emerging trend in data management for health payers called Data-as-a-Service (DaaS), which uses the cloud to deliver data storage, integration, processing, and/or analytics services via a network connection.

For health payers, DaaS provides an opportunity to meet emerging CMS digital quality measures (dQMs), new FHIR standards, as well as enhance overall HEDIS reporting capabilities.

With the goal of providing access to actionable, clean and validated data, DaaS allows health payers to gain optimal results from their data, while also removing any challenges with meeting new standards.

As CMS is transitioning all quality measures used in its reporting programs to digital quality measures (dQMs), which also requires HIT developers to support FHIR Release 4 and specific data standards, today’s DaaS-based solutions remove the burden from payers to make this conversion.

Last week, IMAT Solutions announced the launch of its DaaS-based offering for health payers, which also supports IMAT’s Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) capabilities for accessing comprehensive supplemental data, and supporting risk assessment accuracy and quality parameters.

The new DaaS solution is also an extension of IMAT’s new Value-Based products and services for payers, states and HIEs. These new clustering and SaaS-based solutions, as well as the company’s new National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) designation, enable trusted data for enhancing quality reporting and better care outcomes.
