08 Dec Elevance Health Medicaid Plans Receive NCQA Health Equity Accreditation

IMAT Solutions helps payers to aggregate clinical data to support health equity efforts

Elevance Health recently announced that 21 of its Medicaid plans have achieved health equity accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).

As a result, 93 percent of the payer’s 8 million Medicaid members are in a NCQA-accredited plan, which is an industry first. This accreditation is part of Elevance Health’s efforts to advance health equity across all its plans through an approach called “health equity by design.”

The goal is to ensure that all people, regardless of race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, and geographic or financial access can receive individualized care through its plans.

This accreditation is part of a larger trend of health payers making more investments into health equity with a key focus on using data to identify where equity gaps exist in key performance areas.

Last month, CMS released its Framework for Health Equity, which detailed the need for increasing the collection of data on social determinants of health (SDOH) to better identify equity gaps.

Along these lines, IMAT Solutions leverages a clinical data integration (CDI) framework, which provides payers with member-centric aggregated clinical data to better meet CMS measures around health equity and SDOH.

For example, IMAT Flexible Payer Solution is an easy-to-use, one-stop-offering that allows health payers to gain optimal results from their clinical and SDOH data by taking a patient centered approach to enhance overall member care.

In addition, IMAT Solutions has earned the Validated Data Stream designation and re-certification in the new National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Data Aggregator Validation (DAV) program. This certification reinforces how the IMAT platform provides ‘trusted’ clinical data assets that help drive the most meaningful care and business outcomes for payers.
