06 Sep Medicare Shared Savings Program Continues to Deliver High-Quality Care and Savings

Time for MSSP ACOs to prepare for the 2025 deadline for APP quality measures reporting

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) continues to drive high-quality care, while also saving Medicare $1.8 billion in 2022.

Marking the sixth consecutive year the program has generated overall savings and optimal performance, these new results reinforce that MSSP Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) are continuing to be successful in delivering coordinated, high-quality, affordable, equitable, person-centered care.

As highlighted in this recent CMS press release, MSSP ACOs are groups of doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers who collaborate and provide coordinated, high-quality care to people with Medicare. These care organizations continually focus on delivering the right care at the right time, while avoiding unnecessary services and medical errors.

A key part of the MSSP program is that ACOs that deliver quality care and spend dollars wisely are eligible to share in its savings through performance payments.

In addition, the MSSP program is increasing in scope with CMS setting the goal of 100 percent of Traditional Medicare patients being part of an ACO by 2030.

Along with this trajectory towards enhancing care quality, MSSP ACOs are required to meet the CMS 2025 deadline for reporting either eCQMs or CQMs for all patients, payers and health practices as part of the CMS Quality Payment Program.

However, meeting this deadline could be very challenging for MSSP ACOs, as it could take up to 18 to 24 months to achieve compliance. In other words, the time to act is now.

To best meet these new reporting requirements, MSSP ACOs need innovative solutions that enhance data aggregation, patient matching, and de-duplication capabilities, as well as to implement a comprehensive performance review.

Fortunately, IMAT Solutions can help MSSP ACOs aggregate and integrate data from multiple sources in real-time for meeting the upcoming eCQMs and MIPS CQMs reporting and QPP submission requirements.

We recently launched a comprehensive landing page that maps our capabilities to the CMS’ “Reporting MIPS CQMs and eCQMs in the Alternative Payment Model Performance Pathway (APP).” This step-by-step guide shows MSSP ACOs about how IMAT Solutions can help them through the whole compliance process.

Are you ready to meet the CMS-mandated 2025 deadline for reporting either eCQMs or CQMs for all patients, payers and health practices? Now’s the time to get prepared, and IMAT can get you on this path to compliance! Contact us today!
